Veggie Stix Review

As a part of my Back to School Snacks CraveBox I got a bag of Veggie Stix.  They are an all natural snack product that does actually have some nutritional value in them because they are made from vegetables.  I decided to only eat half of the bag and let my son eat the rest.  I am so glad I did because we both loved them!

"Imagine getting health benefits from snacks! Well we put those thoughts into reality with our new reformulated Veggie Stix, better ingredients, same great taste! Our Veggie Stix® are an excellent source of Vitamins A, C, D, and B6 and a good source of Vitamins E &K. Veggie Stix® and Chips are made with all natural ingredients; potatoes, tomatoes and spinach, pure sea salt and non-hydrogenated oils. That means 0 grams of trans fat and the chips have 30% less overall fat than regular chips for you and your family and the Veggie Stix® and Hot Veggie Stix® , 55% less fat than regular potato chips! Try our healthier snack alternative with a sandwich or straight from the bag."

I had my half at work after lunch.  Man, were they addicting!  I couldn't stop eating them.  They were so light and crunchy I had to remind myself not to eat the whole bag.  I tasted each "stick" on it's own and they do each have their own flavor.  Some of them were too long to eat in one bite but I found myself grabbing a few at a time anyway.  One of the best parts about eating these was that my fingers did not have a greasy colored coating on them when I was done. Of course there were crumbs but nothing that brushing my hands over the garbage didn't take care of.

Mason didn't seem to have a preference which flavor I gave him and when we got down to the last few he took the bag from me and helped himself.  I guess I was handing them out too slow!

Now I wouldn't go ditching your vegetables on your plate for a pile of these but they are a great alternative to eating potato chips.

Have you tried these before?
What is your favorite crunchy snack?

SunRype Fruit Strip Review

Another item that came in my Back to School Snacks CraveBox were three SunRype 100% Fruit Strips.  The flavor I chose to review is the strawberry but I also got a strawberry/banana (which has hidden carrot) and wildberry.

The packaging was very easy to open and I like that you can open it from either side.  I love that this is a healthy snack that I can give to my son as a "treat".  He doesn't get sweet that often so even something like this is special.

The ingredients hold true to the claim on the front.  No added sugar or dyes and all fruit ingredients.  It also states right on the front that this is a nut/gluten free snack.

I did try out the "rip it" statement on the front and it worked nicely.  I could see older kids having fun eating them this way.  The flavor of this snack was great.  Similar to a fruit roll-up but better!  I tasted just like dried strawberries.  I am a big fan of food like this and I was not disappointed.

So the real test was to give some to my two year old.  He went nuts over it!  He was so upset when he had finished all of it.  This is going to be a new addition to my arsenal of snacks to keep on hand.
