Even in my 30's I still struggle with breakouts. I feel like I tried everything! I still go back and forth between using salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. I have been using more benzoyl peroxide products recently so when I had the chance to review the
Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment I took it as a good time to change again.
Apothederm Acne Clarifying Treatment is both a treatment for acne but also minimizes pore size and keeps skin balanced. The 1% salicylic acid is an anti-inflammatory that also exfoliates dead skin cells to help reduce pore size and sebum build up. It also has Oligopeptide-10 Patented SmartPeptide® technology that has skin calming properties, shown to help bind cellular toxins as well as glycerin which is a humectant that draws moisture to skin.
According to the instructions you can put it on the affected area up to three times a day unless excessive drying occurs then reduce the use. I started out with twice a day and had no problems with dryness. The product had a minimal smell and no dyes which I like. Even though I have breakouts, my skin is also very sensitive. It absorbed very quickly and I didn't feel like I had anything on my face once it was dry. I found that one and a half to two pumps was enough for my face.
I have been using this every day for a few weeks now and I like this product and the way it makes my skin feel. It definitely helped to control my breakouts. even the hormonal ones. I was happy that it didn't dry my face out and cause peeling.
