Summit Nutritions Whey Protein Review

My mornings are hectic.  I have to get myself ready as well as my 4.5yr old son ready so sometimes I don't have time to sit and eat breakfast...well, most of the time actually.  I love having a protein drink as an option for the mornings that I don't have time to brush my hair.  I have tried several different kinds, 2 from Vitacost and this one from Lean 1 off Amazon.  I feel that with these 3 very different drinks under my belt I could make an honest review for Summit Nutritions.

I tried each packet with a different liquid.  The first shake I made using 2% milk and it tasted great!  It mixed very easily in my Blender Ball cup and was creamy and smooth.  It gave a good amount of energy and kept my hunger away for about 3 hours or so.

The next day I used just water.  I was not as pleased with this mixture because of it's lack of creamy consistency but it still mixed easily and tasted good.  It was just kind of like drinking chocolate water.

With the last packet I used unsweetened coconut almond milk.  This was better than the water but not as good as the milk.  I must say though that it was mostly because of the coconut and almond flavor mixed with the chocolate.  It was also creamy like the milk was and still kept my hunger at bay.

You can buy this same 3 pack from Amazon with FREE Prime shipping for only $7.99.  This is a great way to try it out without committing to a huge container.

Overall, I liked this mix and would recommend it based on the comparison to the others I have tried.

Here is some info from the company for those of you who need to know about this stuff!

Clean Label: No protein complex: Non Denaturated: Non Ion Exchanged: Naturally Flavored: 5.6 BCCAs & 4.8 Glutamines (Highest In class): Lactose Free: Gluten Free: Non-GMO: Kosher Certified: 0 g Fat: Cholesterol & Carbohydrate < 1% DV.

  • Highest biopurity profile - Summit Nutrition's Whey Protein Isolate gives 90% of protein per scoop (25/27.7g) and maximum amount (5.6 GM) of BCCAs and (4.8 GM) of Glutamines per serving size and it's all coming form the protein not externally added. • Zero fat, very low carb and cholesterol - Summit Nutritions Whey Protein isolate has zero fat and very less, in fact less than 1% Daily Value of Cholesterol and Carbohydrate which is much better than other proteins. In addition to this, there is zero fillers or excepients.
  • Non-GMO, lactose free, soy free & naturally flavored istanized - Summit Nutritions Whey Protein Isolate is free of Lactose, Soy Gluten, BSE/TSE, NON-GMO and naturally flavored with Stevia. The protein is gently spray dried and lecithinated into granular free flowing powder which readily dispersible in water.
  • What is protein or amino acid spiking??? - Many National Brands has added extra cheap Amino Acids like Taurine, Glycine, Glutamines and Creatine to the protein powders even though they are not Food Based Protein, but added to be calculated as protein to lower the cost since they are much cheaper to manufacture. There are class action lawsuits cases against those companies (Mostly National Brands). We don't make protein complex Whey Protein Isolate with Whey concentrate to bring cost down. So look at your Protein supplement fact and find out what is with Protein and make your choice.

Hershey's KISSES

I have yet to meet someone who doesn't like Hershey's KISSES. Even my husband who does not like sweets, likes them. As a part of my Influenster J'Adore VoxBox I was able to share these delightful treats with my whole family. Needless to say, they didn't last long!
I found myself grabbing a handful in the evening, after my son was in bed, and relaxing on the couch with them.  Sometimes I would just chew them.  Sometimes I would let it slowly melt in my mouth.  I even ate them a few times in hiding so I didn't have to share with my son!
I love to make these pretzel treats with them too.  I finally have the best way to melt them!  Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.  Turn the oven off.  Place the treats in the oven for 10 minutes.  Take them out and gently push one candy coated chocolate into the Hershey KISS.  Let them stand to cool over night or in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Pure Madness Chocolate Review

Do you love chocolate?
I do, so you can imagine how happy I was when I found out that I qualified for this BzzAgent campaign!
They sent me one box of Pure Madness chocolates and one full size bar.

I decided to try my chocolates out while watching my guilty pleasure, The Bachelor.  I tried the salted caramel first.  The outside was hard milk chocolate topped with a sprinkle of coarse salt.  Even though it was a hard shell it was soft enough to bite through and not make a mess.  The center was not what I was expecting though.  I was thinking it would be a gooey caramel but instead it this:

Now it wasn't bad at all, don't get me wrong.  It was a very creamy center but not the usual oozing dripping center I was expecting.  It was very rich and full of flavor and I quickly realized I needed a glass of milk!

To my surprise Hubby sat down next to me and asked if he could try one. *gasp*  He decided on the vanilla cream filled.  Even though he is not into sweets he really liked it.  I was surprised to see the inside of this one though.  It looked like milk chocolate.  It didn't change his mind on sweets but he did enjoy it.

I tried the rest of them over the next few days and really enjoyed all of them...except one.  I was not a fan of the chili lime.  Now, please take into consideration that I do not like spicy food in general and I have a very low tolerance for it.  I saved this one for last of course and took about two bites before my mouth was on fire.  I wanted to like it but it just wasn't for me.

As for the chocolate bar, I am still enjoying a little bit every night.  I received the Smoky Almond milk chocolate bar and it is very good.  The chocolate is creamy and melts very fast.  There are good sized chunks of crunchy almonds that are full of flavor.  I am rationing this one though so it will hopefully last me a few more nights!

What is your favorite food indulgence?
