Kraft Handi-Snacks Review

Laurel Likes it kraft handi snack reveiwThis was probably the item I was most excited to see in my Back to School CraveBox.  Kraft is still making Handi-Snacks.  Raise your hand if you loved these when you were younger!  They have changed some over the years but it's still pretty much the same.

Even as an adult I really enjoyed eating this.  I have to admit, it's not the healthiest snack but it a heck of a lot better than most other things like chips that are fried.  The pretzels were crunchy and the cheese was smooth.  I still love this kind of cheese.  It's a guilty pleasure to say the least!  I was worried as I got down to the last few pretzels that there wasn't going to be enough cheese but there was. *phew*  After all these years these have not changed a bit and that is a good thing!!

I had my 2 year old try it out and loved it!  He had a lot of fun dipping the pretzels in the cheese and licking it off.  Looks like he takes after his mommy!

What was your favorite snack growing up?

*I received this pack of gum in my Back to School Snacks CraveBox. However, all opinions are my own and I will always be honest, good or bad.

Conscious Box Review and Free Box Code!

As you might know, I spoke about Conscious Box and hosted a giveaway for them a few weeks ago.  Since then, I have received one of their boxes and I want to share my opinions on the items that were in the box.

The first thing I tried was the Earth Paste toothpaste.  We received the Lemon Twist
flavor for "Children of all ages".  First of all, I love that it's lemon flavor.  I showed my 2 1/2 year old son and he was immediately excited to try it.  I read the ingredients and was really surprised to see it was made with Food Grade Redmond Clay.  The more I read about this stuff the better it gets.  Best of all my son LOVES it!.

Next was the Ecover automatic dishwasher tablets.  I have a septic at home so we have to be very careful about what we put down the drain.  Most dishwasher detergent is safe for a septic but I can't help but think about all the chemicals getting washed down there just to leach out into my backyard...  These tablets are made from all plant and minerals so no worries about that going into the ground!  I used both packets and each time got the same results.  My dishes were clean.  Not any cleaner than my normal packets from the big box store but achieved in a much healthier way.

The Somersaults were delicious!  I got the cinnamon crunch flavor and boy are they crunchy!  I love the sunflower seeds hidden in them and the not too over whelming sweetness.  I could easily eat this in the morning and be satisfied for a few hours.  The only thing was that I wish I had more!

I actually had two things for my son to try.  There was an Orgain Healthy Kids Organic Nutritional Shake.  It was the vanilla flavor which was fine by me.  I snuck a taste before handing it over, it was pretty good and he loved it!  I was really surprised to see that it's not made with milk but with whey and milk protein.  I really love that it is made with 10 different organic fruits and veggies and has 23 vitamins and minerals and 8 grams of organic protein.  I think this would be great on to have on hand for the days I don't think he ate that well throughout the day.

As I try more of these products I will post the updates and because I love all of you and want you to try this out I have another opportunity for you to get a great deal!

Colgate Optic White Review

Everyone always wants a whiter smile.  I have tried so many different methods including plastic strips, wax strips, trays with gel...you name it.  I always ran into the same problem, sensitivity.  I would use these products for about 2-3 days and then it would hit.  My teeth would become so sensitive that even when I wasn't eating or drinking my teeth hurt.  One night years ago I remember not even being able to sleep!  Needless to say I was hesitant to try out another whitening regimen.  To my surprise my teeth feel fine!  I will break this up into 3 parts and try not to keep it too lengthy.

I received this Colgate Optic White three part whitening regime from Influenster as a part of my Sugar-n-Spice VoxBox.

The Optic White toothbrush is, well, a toothbrush.  Honestly, it's a little too big for my mouth (insert joke about me having a big mouth).  I do usually prefer a smaller head but it doesn't change the effectiveness of it at all.  There are 4 different kinds of bristles to reach all areas of your teeth including special polishing parts in the middle.  The back has small nubs for cleaning your tongue.  The handle is comfortable to hold and had nice gel grips that make it easier to maneuver while wet.

The Optic White toothpaste does leave your teeth very clean, almost comparable to what your teeth feel like after a dental cleaning!  The toothpaste goes a long way too.  It is very foamy so you only need a light spread of it across your toothbrush.  It rinses out easily and doesn't leave any bad after taste in your mouth.

That brings us to the Optic White mouthwash.  It smelled great right off the bat.  Not the same peppermint as the toothpaste, more of a wintergreen.  I was looking forward to it not stinging because it is alcohol free.  Boy, was I wrong!  First, it tastes like you are swishing with mint flavored hydrogen peroxide.  Second, my mouth was on fire!!  It is really hard to keep it in for the 60 seconds they recommend.  One plus side is that if you have any nasal congestion it will clear you right out!

Overall, the system is working.  I will deal with the pain of the mouthwash if it means I can achieve a whiter smile without the sensitivity.

I tried to get two pictures with similar lighting.  The after picture is slightly brighter but I do see a difference!

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Towelettes Review

Influenster sent me some Dickinson's Witch Hazel wipes in my Sugar-n-Spice VoxBox.  I have never used witch hazel before so I was interested to see how it compared to the many other facial wipes I have used.  I have been a Stridex pad user for many years but have also used Noxema, Garnier, Simple and just recently Ponds.

I used the same marker for reference
They each come in their own individually wrapped package to keep them moist.  The towelette is large and soft in texture.  They leave my face feeling fresh and clean without having to actually wash my face.  I have been keeping these in my work bag to freshen up after lunch and I really like the feeling.

There are two things I don't like about them.  The first is the scent.  I am not sure what witch hazel smells like but I'm not really a fan.  I must say though that it is not bad enough to keep me from using them and the scent does not stay on your face for long.  The second is that I had the same kind of sensitivity around my eyes as I did with the Pond's towelettes.  One of the uses listed it to take off makeup and I can not do that with these.

I honestly don't think I would purchase these on my own.  I use what they sent me but I don't think that they are good fit for me.

Have you ever used witch hazel?
